Privacy Policy

Last updated October 11, 2026. This policy describes how Paper Format Check handles your information when you use the checker, create an account, or buy a check pack.

Paper content

Paper text and DOCX files are sent only to the secure checker API to provide the requested check. DOCX metadata is discarded during processing. Temporary encrypted input and result objects are scheduled for deletion within 30 minutes, and paper content is excluded from logs and optional analytics.

Rule-based findings do not depend on AI. When optional AI explanations are available, only minimized rule identifiers and redacted finding data are sent for explanation—not the full paper.

Optional analytics

Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity are denied by default and may load only after you accept. Google Analytics 4 runs only on About, Pricing, How-To, Privacy, Terms, Cookie Settings, Refund, and Contact pages. It is used only to measure aggregate page visits. It does not run on the checker, citation or reference tools, authentication, account, checkout, API, unknown, or error pages.

On an allowed page, Google Analytics 4 may process the fixed page type, browser, device, language, screen information, a Google Analytics cookie or client identifier, and coarse location temporarily derived from the source IP address. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses; the source IP is still transmitted to Google to establish the connection and derive coarse location. Page query strings, hashes, dynamic page titles, paper text, citations, references, file names, email, account or payment IDs, check results, and explanations are not sent to Google Analytics 4.

Microsoft Clarity may run after acceptance outside tool, authentication, account, and checkout contexts. It may process page interactions and browser or device information as described by Microsoft. Optional analytics providers may use cookies or similar browser technologies. Retention and processing are governed by the applicable provider settings and policies; this policy does not claim an unverified retention setting.

Accounts and payments

Accounts use secure server sessions. Payments are processed by Stripe Checkout. Stripe handles card details; Paper Format Check does not store them. Purchase and credit records are retained as described for account operation, refunds, legal, and tax requirements.

Your choices

You can reject optional analytics without losing checker functionality and reopen Cookie Settings at any time to change your analytics choice. Withdrawing consent stops future optional analytics collection after the page reloads; it cannot undo a transmission already completed before withdrawal. If your browser does not allow the choice to be saved, analytics remains off.
