Refund Policy

Last updated September 4, 2026. This policy explains when a one-time check pack purchase is eligible for a refund and how to request one.

What you can buy

Paper Format Check sells one-time check packs only. Starter includes 10 checks for $2.99 and is valid for 90 days after purchase. Semester includes 30 checks for $6.99 and is valid for 180 days after purchase. Every pack is a single one-time payment — no subscription and no recurring charge. Free checks included with a free account are not purchases and are not refundable.

How we measure usage

Usage means the number of checks you have used from a purchased pack, counted against the total checks in that pack. For example, using 2 of 10 Starter checks is 20% usage; using 2 of 30 Semester checks is about 7% usage. The checks included with your free account do not count toward usage of a purchased pack.

Refund eligibility

We review refund requests against these rules:

• Within 24 hours of purchase, with at most 2 checks used: full refund.
• Within 7 days of purchase, with at most 20% of the pack used: full refund.
• Within 7 days of purchase, with 20–50% of the pack used: proportional refund based on the unused share of the pack. For example, if you used 40% of the pack, the refund is 60% of the purchase price.
• More than 7 days after purchase, or more than 50% of the pack used: not eligible by default. If you believe your case is exceptional, you can appeal — see below.

How to request a refund

Email support@paperformatcheck.com from the email address on your account, and include your order details (purchase date and pack name, or the order ID shown in your account). Every request is reviewed by a person against the eligibility rules above. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method through Stripe; once approved, the time it takes to appear on your statement depends on your bank or card issuer. Your card statement shows purchases under the descriptor PAPERFORMATCHECK.

Appeals

If your request falls outside the eligibility rules, you can still ask for a manual review. Email support@paperformatcheck.com with the same details plus a short explanation, and we will review your case individually.

Disputes and chargebacks

If something looks wrong with a charge, please contact us first — most issues can be resolved faster this way. Filing a dispute (chargeback) with your bank does not permanently ban your account. While a dispute is under review, the paid checks from the disputed order are paused; your free allowance and access to the checker remain available, and you can always reach us to appeal. Every dispute outcome is reviewed by a person.

Repeated refunds

To keep the service fair, accounts or payment methods with more than 3 refunds within 30 days may be paused from new purchases while we review the activity manually. This does not affect checks you have already purchased.
